Could you do an 80/20 trick of retention against pressure passing, I'm a small guy who rolls with the big guys and whenever my guard is passed it's by forcing the half-guard or stackpass
You can try to make sure that you still have a good frame with your half-guard by having a knee shield, and then eventually working to an underhook that lets you force the opponent forward, or to move into a dogfight position. For the stack pass, Lachlan Giles has some good resources that discuss keeping your back and hips glued to the mat, so you essentially slide back like a board, instead of being a ball (which may be advisable for passes that rely on breaking the elbow-knee connection).
