I think it's two things. First, the fact that you're "lower" makes it easier to put way more pressure on their knee. And second, the knee shift allows the other leg, the non-hooking leg, to be free so you can move freely underneath them. Test it both ways and I think you'll feel the difference. Hope it helps 😊
